Our Partners
Blessing Box
To provide food to anyone in need, we keep this box stocked with non-perishable food items. The box is located on Fairfax Blvd in front of the church building. The congregation, Preschool parents and neighborhood residents donate items, which can be taken by anyone at any time of day.
Emmanuel Dining Room of the Ministry of Caring
We provide lunch each month to 75–90 people at the South Dining Room in New Castle. Volunteers bake cookies, purchase the food, and prepare and serve a hot meal.
Christmas Giving
The families of the Concord Preschool collect clothing, books, and toys as gifts for children in foster care during the holidays. These gifts are distributed by the Children and Families First program.
Children & Families First is a statewide non-profit organization in Delaware that provides social, educational, and mental health support for children and families.
Seamen’s Center of Wilmington
We support seamen arriving in ports in Delaware and far from home during the December holidays by collecting necessities, including toiletry items, hats, and gloves. These “Christmas at Sea” items are packed into shoeboxes and gifted to visiting seamen.
Friendship House
We support Friendship House, which helps individuals and families facing homelessness. We serve in downtown Wilmington by helping provide meals for weekly Sunday Hospitality, as well as meals and volunteer staffing for safe shelter during Code Purple/Code Orange extreme weather.
We collect clothing for the Clothing Bank twice a year. Concord youth help sort clothing and work at the transitional houses, improving the residences by cleaning and gardening.
We also raise funds for Friendship House through the Highmark Walk in May. In addition, funds from the offering in worship are provided each month to help Friendship House prevent eviction and homelessness by assisting people with payments for rent, utilities, and other needs.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat improves the quality of life in a focus neighborhood by creating opportunities for affordable homeownership, preserving homeownership through critical home repairs, and engaging the community in clean-ups and beautification projects.
We provide hands-on home-building support through an annual work day at a home being built by Habitat for Humanity New Castle County.
Guatemala Partnership
In partnership with our regional Presbyterian Church (USA) organization, New Castle Presbytery, we support women and their families in Guatemala.
Support includes purchases of chicks to enable women to start their own small poultry businesses, fuel-efficient stoves to reduce the cost of fuel and improve home air quality, and literacy supplies for adults to support their personal and economic advancement.
